Interfaith Alliance President The Rev. Dr. Welton Gaddy criticized Fox News' Brit Hume for his Jan. 3rd "reporting" about Tiger Woods' recent marital infidelity.  Gaddy was critical of Hume's comments that Woods' recovery "depends on his faith," as well as Hume's telling Tiger Woods (a Buddhist), "Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world."  Click here to read about this incident on the Washington Post blog site.

Brit Hume also stated that Buddhism does not offer the same kind of forgiveness and redemption as does Christianity.  What does that mean? WNYC's Brian Lehrer speaks with Krista Tippett, host of public radio's "Speaking of Faith" program, to explore the concepts of forgiveness and redemption in those two religions.  You can also listen to a podcast of that show at Brian Lehrer's website.  (Scroll down to segment titled "Forgiveness.")

(if the link does not work, go to www.wnyc.org then click on "SHOWS" at the top of window, search for the Brian Lehrer show, then find the 1/12/2010 program in the show's archives.  Scroll down to segment titled: "Forgiveness.")
