Who We Are

The Interfaith Alliance (TIA) of Long Island is a gathering of people of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds dedicated to the protection of civil liberties, and the achievement of peace and justice for all people, within and without this great nation of ours.  We uphold the principles of religious and cultural diversity and pluralism as well as the maintenance of the wall of separation of church and state as the means to guarantee those principles both for the protection of democracy and the prophetic voice of religion in its vital role as the conscience of our society.  We urge all persons of good conscience to join with us as we work together to create a more just, free and peaceful society for all people.

The Rev. Mark J. Lukens, O.C.C.
